We set off on Thursday with friends to one of our favorite places.
We go every year and meet up with friends from all over the state and elsewhere too.
About 40 miles into the trip on a major highway at high speed we blew the rear tire. It was a little scary but once we got it stopped and assessed we were okay. 2 hours later with help from our friends and some very kind strangers, we were back on the road. It wasn't the tire but the valve stem so it was an easy fix.
We took mostly back roads and enjoyed the ride all the way to Oregon. Upon arrival we discovered that Sparkplug had saved us the deluxe hut. Awesome!
We spent the next couple days enjoying the sunshine, friends and being alive. When we went into town for breakfast at our favorite little spot, My Place Cafe. The waitresses remembered us from past years. It's always a good time.
Friday evening we headed over to the coast for a nice dinner and then watched the sun go down over the water. It was wonderful.
Once we got back to camp the party was in full swing. We saw familiar faces and some new ones too. It was a good time.
Saturday we took the day and rode up to see my mom since she was only a couple hours away. It was good to see her and I was able to help with a couple things she needed done. We made it back to camp before dark and we beat the rain too.
We spent the last night around the campfire making s'more's and laughing with friends.
We made it home safe and sound without incident. Lots of memories made and already looking forward to next year.
