Memorial Day Weekend

It's been a good one.

We spent the weekend at home. Getting things done around the house. Handsome has been converting all the sprinklers to timers and that's been a job in itself. We have 3 sections and to make a long story short, when the auto sprinklers were put in years ago they were done as cheap as possible so... he is working his way around. Making everything work right as well as look good.

We spent all day Saturday and Sunday working in the back and front yard. I worked on the front cat box planter. It's now cleaned out, weeded and covered with cedar mulch. Fingers crossed that it will stop the neighborhood cats from thinking my front yard is the bathroom. It also looks so much better than it did with just the dirt. It was a simple thing but what a transformation it made. I don't know what took me so long to do it.

We trimmed the Tangerine tree back to the house. Not sure if we'll get any Tangerines this year because of that but that's okay. There's always next year and it really needed to be trimmed.
It looks 100% better.

We also got bold and pulled out the juniper bush from under our bedroom window. Now both ends of the house match with both junipers gone. We think it's a good improvement, we have a beautiful brick house. We want to be able to see it. Not hide it behind bushes and shrubs.

This house was left unattended and became very overgrown before we bought it. I think that's partly the reason it wasn't snapped up fast and we were able to get it. Everyone who saw it just saw dollar signs and a lot of work. We weren't scared.

Well, maybe a little. LOL

We still have a way to go but it's looking better all the time.

Today was a little more relaxed since we did the bulk of work the last 2 days. That gave me a chance to work on my Coupon Binder.

I still need to get a couple more things to complete it but it's a work of art even if I do say so myself. I know it will help me save even more on my shopping trips.

Did I tell you that while I was doing my shopping on Friday evening there were 2 other women in the store, both with binders?  This coupon thing is catching on. Don't be shy if you are interested in learning. I have some great sites to share.

So, the weekend is over now.
We're tired but in a good way. We got a lot done.
The house is looking better than ever.
Now, if we can just get some heat so we can be outside enjoying all the benefits of our hard work.
