Keepin a smile on my face

As most of you know. I have a small Home & Pet Sitting business. I'm currently reestablishing since moving. I've printed trifolds and put an ad on Craigslist. It's been slow but mainly that's been my fault. I haven't given it the effort it needs.

I recently got an email inquiring about myself and my references. I replied via email since no phone number was provided. I stated that I would be happy to discuss the job and provide references to them if they would please call me or provide their number. I waited to hear from them.

I just didn't/don't feel comfortable doing it all by email. There are too many crooks, cranks and fakes on Craigslist. While there's still a chance they could be one or all three above even if they did call me, I feel that making the effort to call shows good faith.

Today I heard back from them via email again. They changed their needs as far as pet care and also had a list of questions they wanted me to answer. I, once again, very politely said I would be more than happy to meet with, call them or they could call me to discuss care and I would answer all of their questions.

I heard back within a few hours that they wouldn't be needing my services. They wanted me to answer their questions so they could "weed" me out but since I was unwilling to do as they asked they had already interviewed 4 others and found what they needed. I responded I was happy they had found home/pet care 

and wished them the best.

 I got an email back within minutes. It was rude and obnoxious.

I'm glad they didn't call me after all.

In them trying to "weed" me out. I weeded them out.

I don't work for difficult people. It's too complicated and life is too short.
