Today I had lunch with some friends. We decided to check out the newly remodeled Sizzler.
It was very nice. The outside and inside were both redone. It's warm tones and very inviting.
The seating is now booths and a few tables. More intimate, less cafeteria style.
Once we ordered and got seated I noticed another big change inside.
TV's everywhere. In the corners and even a huge one in the center of one wall. Really?
Really?
I'm confused?
Are we supposed to go out with friends to enjoy a meal just so we can ignore them and watch TV?
It makes no sense to me. I understand if you're at a sports bar to catch the game but why is it that almost EVERY restaurant seems to have TV's now?
It seems wrong to me on more than one level.
What has happened to us? Why do we find this acceptable? I don't but I'm afraid I'm in the minority and not the majority.
To me this goes along with using your phone at the table or when you're out to eat. I see that all the time too.
RUDE!!!!
