Maybe it's just me

but I don't understand it.

Today while at the grocery store the woman in front of me at the checkout line was on her phone. She continued her conversation the whole time while the checker scanned and the courtesy clerk bagged. At one point there was a coupon on something she bought and she waved her arm and pointed for the courtesy clerk to take it off and hand it to the checker. She was still on the phone as she walked away with her groceries.

I watched her with irritation. I wondered what so important that she had to be on the phone right then and there. It clearly was not an emergency. She was chit chatting. I find it rude and completely unacceptable. What has happened to us as a society? Do we feel ourselves so important that we've forgotten basic manners?

We watch a lot of shows on DYI and HGTV. I like most of them but... I dislike "Yard Crashers" & "Desperate Landscape"  I find I get annoyed with them as I watch. I feel, as a rule they "redo" yards that are crappy due to lack of care and or responsibility.
The remove all the old and yucky plants, grass and rotten whatever only to replace it with new and fresh.
I'd really like them to go back in 6 months and do an update. I bet that it looks crappy all over again. Most times it appears the main reason it's crappy in the first place is because the owners of said landscape didn't take care of it! Didn't take pride in it! Couldn't be bothered to water, edge, trim, repair and or whatever else is/was needed. Just let it go.... someone else will fix it for us.
Once again I wonder. What the heck has happened to us?

Good Grief!
