My boys turned 16 on August 2nd. We were so busy with the move that I didn't blog about it.
I'm still processing that my "babies" are 16 and now one of them is ready for driving.
He went online and did his Driver's Ed. (that's how it's done here where we live)
He completed it and once he got his certificate in the mail I made the DMV appt.
That was yesterday. He passed the written test on his first try.
I'm a proud mama.
Today I called and to get him signed up for Driver's Training. They're booked out until October. Bummer for him but I'm secretly happy... is that wrong?
I remember being that age and being so excited to drive!! but as a parent... I'm a little afraided for him.
Can we go back to about age 10? That was a good age. I miss 10.
Now I get to call my insurance and find out how much blood money they're gonna want to add him to my policy when the time comes.
Ouch!

Congrats? It's a fun, scary time for both of you. Make sure you get all the insurance discounts you can. Good student, Drivers Ed, etc. Hate to tell you, but speaking as a former insurance agent and mom of a teenage boy, it's gonna hurt!
I hope Santa brings you a piggy bank full of cash for Christmas, cause you're gonna need it for insurance. I know, cause I've got one that will be 16 in November.
