When I was a teenager, I fell in love, real love for the very first time in my life. 3 years later when his love ended, I was broken. It took me a year to recover.
Obviously, life goes on and I found a new, true love.
It tooks several years but my first love and I reached the friend stage of life. It was long distance and intermittent but there was still a connection.
Every once in a while I think about that love. He has since passed away. Just writing those words, hurts. I believe he's in a better place. Here on Earth he was so troubled and even though the selfish side of me wishes he was still living, I know he is at peace.
I learned many things and had many experiences during those 3 years. Some good, some bad but always.
Wonderful. Life Changing. Eductional.
He taught me some very life altering lessons.
One of the things I learned about and grew to love is Frank Zappa's Music. We even went to see him in concert way back when. It still gives me pause that woman actually threw their underwear at him on stage, but to each his own.
Yesterday, while in the car I put on my CD. While I listened I just knew my first love was smiling.
He did that. Created a Zappa fan and so much more.
Hearing it always brings a smile to my face. Takes me right back to those times. God, how young we were. Oh, the memories. I carry them with me everywhere I go.
Thank you my friend.
You gave me more than you will ever know.
After 9 years
I still miss you.

I know exactly how you feel and it is an emotional time for you even though you have moved on. A part of your youth as passed and it's a strange feeling. I've been there.
