Catch-22

Monday I went to my mailbox to retrieve the bills and junk I knew would be there. As I was going through several pieces of mail I saw an envelope that was addressed to me and the return address struck a cord. I then remembered being contact earlier in the year from this same place. It was in regard to a class action suit with my former employee, Hallmark. Because I was an employee during the time frame in question I was asked to fill out the form and return it. It showed the amount I would receive if the case was settled and it gave a court date. I did as asked after reading everything very carefully. I really didn't give it much more thought than to think I would never see a dime. So, on Monday when I saw that envelope my first thought was I was being notified of what I was not getting. I was wrong....It was a check for $564.00. Visions of bill paying and Christmas gifts danced in my head. It was exciting. I called Handsome right away to share our good fortune.

Jump ahead to Tuesday. I go to the dentist in regard to another tooth problem I'm having. He informs me I'll need another root canal and crown. Since my insurance is maxed for the year I must wait until Jan but they can tell me my share of cost now. $593.00. Yes! That's right. There. it. is! My kind of luck! My catch-22! I know I should be thankful I've got the money to cover it. I should be happy I have insurance. I should blah blah blah....... I know all this but I'm still a little bit peeved!

It's just seems so unfair.... no one said life was fair. Sometimes I swear if I didn't have bad luck I have no luck at all.

Okay. I'm done whining. Time to move on. Life is short. The holidays are here. We have plenty to be thankful for so I'll concentrate on that.

Hopefully no more money comes in the mail I can't take anymore good news.

Seems we were both born under the same star--that's my kind of luck, too.

I can feel your pain ... literally ... as I'm paying close to $500 for a crown on my tooth too. Yet I have not received a check in the mail to cover it. So it could be worse for you if you think about it that way. Glad I could help. LOL

Oh Geez, the dental work makes the check bittersweet. Such is life, Friend, the good, the bad, and the expensive! *sigh
