The End is Near

I found myself crying today at the commercial for the season finale of ER. I just know that on Thursday I'm gonna lose it.

It is so silly and frustrating to me. I don't like getting this emotional over a TV show. I've never had this reaction to a show before. I can only justify it by the fact that it is so close to my heart because that's the year my babies were born. Handsome was working out of town, I was home alone and ER just started. I got attached. In those days consistency was everything. It gave me a small sense of control. I became hooked. Okay, that my excuse. I can't think of another one. Believe me, I'm not usually a sentimental person. If anything I'm the opposite. I'm becoming annoyed with myself. I probably won't even watch it on Thursday but wait until Friday, just to delay the inevitable and then I have a feeling I won't be able to delete it from my DVR.

Good Grief!

I do take comfort in knowing I'm not the only one.

Nothing wrong with getting emotionally attached to a show. I've been having that affair with GH for 30 years! I fell big time for What About Brian, Jericho and Men in Trees. And look, they canceled them all after only a couple of years. Yes, I cried. You're lucky ER has had such a great run. I let it go when Carter left. But I should watch the finale, just to have that permanent closure.

Get the tissues out!
